Maintenance Tools

Sometimes it can feel like a dream. I wake up, read my devotions and eat breakfast, then head off to another day at the office. Another day of solving unique problems and making adjustments to how things are done so that they’ll be done better, easier, and quicker. I automate processes, I change defaults, and I write lots and lots of documentation. It’s only in the evenings, when I’m calling friends and getting reacquainted with them and I mention that I’m going to be a missionary pilot that it all comes rushing back that I am going to be a missionary pilot! I am going to get to help others who live in difficult-to-reach areas and to me this is a joy because this is my dream and my calling and my one thing that God has asked me to be.

I may not be good at speaking with people but that’s ok. I may not have years of piloting experience already but that’s ok. In fact, other than a few short term missions trips, I don’t really have anything specifically that makes me suited for this ministry. Fortunately, God has called me to this ministry so that His name will be glorified and God’s strength will become only more evident in me because of my weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” Remember, it is God who leads and where God leads, I will follow.
